GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS

Both oral and poster presenters are invited to submit an abstract of maximum 300 words before 20th of May 2017 on one of the following topics:
A) Microplastics and marine environment;
B) Microplastics in the Mediterranean Sea;
C) Sources of microplastics;
D) Degradation of microplastics in marine environment;
E) Impact of microplastics on marine life;
F) Microplastics: from marine pollution to human food chain;
G) Socioeconomic impacts of microplastics;
H) Mitigation of microplastic impact;
I) Biodegradable microplastics;
J) Solutions and future steps.

Please submit the abstract by e-mail at info@microplasticpollution.org indicating in the subject: ABSTRACT μMED-2017 – Family name and Name of the corresponding author.
All accepted contributions will be notified before 30th of May 2017 and will be asked to submit an extended abstract, whose template will be available later.
The notification of the acceptance of the extended abstracts will be send to the corresponding author before 30th of June 2017.
All the accepted extended abstracts will be published in a special volume of the Springer Water book series entitled “Proceedings of the International Conference on Microplastic Pollution in the Mediterranean Sea”.

Moreover, the authors of selected contributions will be invited to submit a paper for a Focus Point of EPJ Plus (European Physical Journal Plus), published by Springer, impact factor (2015): 1.521.

The poster size should be 80 cm wide and 100 cm high. All materials to attach the poster will be available on site. Authors should be present close to their poster during the poster session in order to discuss on their research with the conference participants at the time indicated by the conference program.
